On the Fence

I'm really embarrassed to say this, but I'm on the fence as to whether or not I want to keep J's anniversary gift to me this year. It's not that I don't like it; I'm just not sure I can pull it off. It seems very fancy and impractical to me, which is hilarious because he chose it because he found it understated and practical.

It's a very beautiful, very lovely key case from Burberry.

Inside there are four hooks to attach keys and on the exterior is a leather strap with a key ring at the end which can either be folded inside or left hanging out. It also has two inner pockets and one outer pocket which would be great places to stash 20 francs, or a little to-do list or a love note.
It is a fact that I lose my keys at least once everyday, so it really is a very thoughtful gift on darling J's part. It's so pretty. It seems like something that dirty metal keys would ruin. And now since I haven't scratched it up by forcing my keys onto its perfect hooks and rings, J frowns and says I don't like it. Oh no! I should just go ahead and enjoy my beautiful gift. Honestly, I don't know what is holding me back.

Darling reader, what do you think? Understated yet practical luxury? Am I a fool not to put it to use tout de suite?

  1. You should use it. Unless you HATE the gift you get from your significant other you should always smile and use it. Especially since you said it was thoughtful. How great is it that you have a husband that pays attention to you and attempts to find something that you will like and that will be useful.

At least that is what I think. I have found that men are a bit sensitive when it comes to the gifts they give you, I know Nick likes knowing that I always have loved his gifts. *Almost always* :) You might find out that you really like it! So what if the keys make it dirty, then once it is ruined you don't have to use it anymore :)

  2. You're SO right, Samantha! I just went to put my keys on it and realized I'll be giving back my apartment and mailbox keys in a week and won't need to tote around 4 work keys for the whole summer...so I guess I'll wait until we get the keys to our new apartment!!!! Hurrah!
Yes, men are so sweet and sensitive. J does a very good job in the gift department. It's so pretty. I can use it without fear of destroying its beauty! :) Thanks for the push!!! xo
